The drive from Victoria takes roughly 4 hours and along the way you have the option to stop off in lake Cowichan to stretch your legs and re-fuel on caffeine before hitting the road again. 1.1.2. AFTERNOON: We aim to arrive at Carmanah trail head just before lunch. Upon reaching the Carmanah Walbran Provincial Park trailhead, you'll be greeted by a trail that winds through an ancient rainforest. The hike introduces you to a breath-taking world of towering Sitka spruces, Western red cedars, and colossal Douglas firs, some of which are over 800 years old and reach heights of over 300 feet. As you make your way along the well-maintained trail, listen to the soothing symphony of chirping birds and rustling leaves. 1.1.3. PICNIC LUNCH: Find a picturesque spot along the trail to pause and enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the lush surroundings.
